Dr. Darryl J. Hodgkinson |

Dr. Hodgkinson has been practising cosmetic and reconstructive surgery since the 1970's. To become a plastic surgeon with special qualifications in cosmetic surgery, he first qualified as a medical doctor, and then spent a further eight years in postgraduate training. With the support of Dr Victor Chang, one of his surgical instructors, he was selected for and spent five years of this at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in the United States, followed up by a six month surgical fellowship specialising in cosmetic surgery in Newport Beach, California. He was then in private and university practice in North America before returning home to Australia after 17 years overseas and still practices in Baltimore, Maryland several times each year. |
Dr. Hodgkinson is one of the few surgeons in the world who holds two degrees in plastic surgery, one from the Royal College of Surgeons, Canada and the other from the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Dr. Hodgkinson is a former President of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery. Among other professional organisations, he is a member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the International Society of Laser and Cosmetic Surgeons, the Lipoplasty Society of North America and the Priestly Society. He is the consultant plastic surgeon at the Skin and Cancer Foundation of Australia and is a surgeon teacher at the Medical College of Virginia and Westmead Hospital in Sydney. Dr. Hodgkinson is Founder and Director of Operation Restore Hope, an international charity for cleft lip and palate surgery which has treated over 500 children in the Philippines.

Dr. Hodgkinson has published over 50 articles and given lectures and courses in plastic surgery at the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the French, German and other national Societies of Cosmetic Surgery, and is an invited guest at international meetings all over the world covering various areas of cosmetic surgery. He travels abroad each year speaking at conferences and continuing his own education to ensure that his results are world class.
